Ex no. 1 -

  • To be kind and caring. When actually, he was only Mr. Helpful Nice Guy with other people. Never with his family.
  • To be clean and smell good. He's practically allergic to water.
  • To be ambitious. Pfffffffft

Ex. no. 2 -

  • To be intellectual and arty. He's a typical ball-scratching bloke.
  • To clean his teeth twice daily. He frequently skips teeth cleaning. 🤮🤮
  • To be a handyman. I'm better at DIY than he is/was.

It was the 80s: he made me a mixtape!

I've been love bombed more times than you can shake a stick at. DP didn't love bomb or try to impress me, he was just himself - normal, genuine and nice. And for the first time I am in a healthy relationship instead of an emotionally abusive one. I must admit, I do find it strange sometimes that he's not promising the moon on a stick as I have had in the past, but then I look at him doing the ironing or cooking dinner and being a decent human being and it reminds me how lucky I am.

Met my DH shortly after contracting mononucleosis.
Was advised to drink lots of fluids, which has always been a problem for me to do.
Got out of my sick bed one evening in time to look out the window and see my DM walking up to my DH -to- be who had arrived carrying two large bottles of squash for me to drink.
Apart from being very touched by his thoughtfulness, I remember drinking both bottles within 24 hours and I'm sure they made me feel a lot better.
Fast forward to today, on the very rare occasion that I take to my bed not feeling well, I'm lucky and I'm not kidding I'm lucky if DH remembers to bring me a cup of tea!
