Career change stories

I'm 40ish and considering a career change but not sure what! Any advice or experiences? I know I'm not too old for a change but I am quite senior in my current role and so ideally I'd like somewhere that's not a complete junior position and on similar pay 70-80k+

If you're wanting to hit that sort of money you're going to need to be using your current skills in a slightly different role, rather than a total career change.

OP you are not making any sense. Which field are you interested in? Are you looking for an entry level job at 70-80k?

How do we know our suggestion won't be exactly what you already do? If you want job ideas that pay 70-80k , go on Guardian Jobs and filter by that pay range.

Sorry if my post doesn't make sense! Yes I would like a change and I think it would need to be a job that uses my current skills but not necessarily in the same
profession (legal)

I did. Burned out in the nhs and took voluntary redundancy.

complete career change. I did start at entry level but within 2 years was within 10k of my old salary.

if you want to stay on your current salary chances are you won’t be able to career change totally, more likely slide sideways.

Yes @Whosenameisthis burnout is the issue. There are related roles I could do and if I'm not in the same salary that's okay if I'm happier but I'm considering all options. I may hand in my notice and take a few months off first.
