Right in the centre of a noisy, vibrant, busy city!!

Sibilantseamstress · 12/06/2025 19:03

The outer Hebrides.

RosesAndHellebores · 12/06/2025 19:04

At home, wherever it may be.

shellyleppard · 12/06/2025 19:04

Scarborough, north Yorkshire. Close enough to hear and smell the sea 😍

In a cottage in Cornwall, surrounded by farms and nature.

But in reality, it won't happen because I doubt I'd have my children with me.

cocolokiko · 12/06/2025 19:06

Right where I am now - central London next to a park. But I hope someone will wheel me out to the seaside or countryside once in a while.

Somewhere small (1 bed ideally) , easy to keep clean where I have already downsized the vast majority of my possessions.

Near functioning GP service, walkable grocery shop of some sort and somewhere I can stumble about on a daily basis (nice cafe optional)

My ambition is to do a Granny Weatherwax and leave everything organised, neat and tidy so minimal disruption to family.

I have NOT enjoyed clearing relatives' homes of their clutter and dirt.

@Womblingmerrily Just the same but able to smell the sea.

Hatty65 · 12/06/2025 19:22

Where I currently am, independently and in my own home.

I dread having to be in a nursing home. I'm not good with other people.

Guavafish1 · 12/06/2025 19:22

Africa

This - independent even if I can't drive any more due to eyesight or reaction time or other reasons. I would very much dislike having to ask for people to help me unnecessarily, if it could be avoided by living somewhere sensible.

Like a couple of other posters I'd like to be near the sea, close enough to see it from my window ideally. I'd also strongly prefer to be in a town - cafés and some shops, library, pharmacy and ideally a few other facilities walkable. Rural living is fine if you're healthy and mobile but a trap and a recipe for dependency or isolation if not.

Llandudno, watching the sun rise over the Great Orme.

Sourisblanche · 12/06/2025 19:47

The city in South of France that I’ve just moved to.

Liondoesntsleepatnight · 12/06/2025 19:48

I’m eyeing up some nice apartments local to me, just off the high street, lift, nice view.
