Full time hours creeping up

Anyone else noticed this? I’m vaguely job hunting/browsing and I’m sure FT hours used to be 37.5 and 9-5 ish
now I’m looking at jobs and they’re 42, 45, 46hrs and wanting 8.30-6 or 8-6
and they’ve cut the breaks so no hour lunch, it’s 30 mins

That's grim. There was a Radio 4 program on today about how poor UK productivity is and how the French achieve in 4 days what the UK can in 5. I doubt people are achieving more in those jobs working longer hours.

pension scheme
annual leave

it’s not benefits if it’s a legal entitlement!
