Something simple that totally changed my day.

I've not had a great week.
Started last Thursday with a visit to my mother who's in a care home. Her negativity was off the scale, nothing I said or did was right, left feeling exasperated.
Woke up Sunday morning with the room spinning, my head spinning & feeling awful. By mid morning I was vomiting and feeling faint. this continued into Monday morning, no energy at all.
By Wednesday evening my energy and appetite had fully returned and I decided to head out for a walk to reconnect with myself .......it was absolutely priceless, each step I took made me feel energised.

Turned a corner in the park and walked straight into three boys I used to teach & their mother. (I'm retired for the last year). The delight in their faces when they saw me, the laughter, the memories we shared from my time teaching them, followed by the heartfelt hugs as we parted left me humbled and literally beaming from ear to ear. I was really meant to go on that walk.

That is such a lovely story! You were meant to go on that walk and run into those boys. What a privilege to have had a working life where you were such a positive impact on young people!

Yes I was meant to go on that walk!
It's not often you connect with every child in a family but I really did with these boys. Their mother said they'd been talking about me the previous week and some of the stories I'd told them.
As I said a priceless moment that reminded me of my long career and connections made for life.

Just.a little update.
Had a message from a mutual friend of the family I bumped into last night, to say......."I hear you made somebody's day"
And there was me honestly thinking that they'd made my day!

Just shows how little acts of kindness really do go a long way to lifting your spirits.
