Hello all.

I’m a teacher. I’m pretty good at it but growing progressively knackered and would love to be around for drop offs and pick ups.

anyone got any ideas for jobs where I can work from home?

i just feel like time is moving too quickly and I’m wishing my life away exhausted and waiting for holidays that rush by!

Maybe something in Childrens' Services/social care for the Council? Commissioning can be well paid.

You’d be better off thinking of a job you can do with your skillset and then either looking for wfh/hybrid roles or starting up as self employed.

I’ve largely wfh for 15 years. I’m a health scientist and lecturer (only thing I really went in for was the teaching). Dh is the director of his own business in the sort of retail/hospitality industry. He’s on site once a week overseeing staff, otherwise he does emails and accounts from home.

The most obvious thing for you would be tutoring. That’s what all my former teacher friends do. But depends really what you want to do and the hours. The downside with tutoring is that it’s not school hours.

Thank you both. Food for thought. I seem to spend my life scouring the internet looking for stuff, then applying for things… but not really getting anywhere!

I often see job ads for teachers who can write educational content that are work from home. I think the main company is Twinkl?

I work from home writing, and it’s a nice stress-free existence for the most part.

There's a site called Did Teach that advertises roles for teachers leaving the profession.

I used to advertise WFH roles there.
