Vinted - not sure what to do!

Relatively new to Vinted, and it's all been plain sailing up to now, but have had weird messages from a seller and I don't know what to do.

Bought some BNWT sandals on 2nd June.
Parcel sent 8th June.

Seller then messages me at 11pm on Monday saying she's sent the wrong item to me via Vinted and Evri. She's so sorry, but she can send it via royal mail to my home address. Message in very very bad English.

Feels scammy to me, even though I don't know what the scam is!
So I said no thanks, and asked Vinted for help. Vinted help is ... not v helpful! (Is it just AI?) They advise I reject the parcel - but I can't tell if that means literally reject it (as in refuse to collect from my parcel shop?) or press 'reject' once I've accepted the parcel.

Don't know what to do!
Just want my money back (and/or the sandals!)
Any advice? Thank you!

Is the parcel being sent to lockers / a shop? I think if you don’t collect it, it is automatically returned and you will be refunded.

Yes, it’s being sent to my corner shop. But I feel bad leaving it there because isn’t that a pain for them?! Do they have to return it. I go in there nearly every day, so feels awkward 😬

They'll have a space where packages live until they're collected and yours will just sit in that along with everything else until it gets sent back. They won't notice.

This has happened to me - both ways. Sent and received the wrong thing.

just leave it in the locker and it will be returned/you will be refunded

Just don't collect it, it will be returned to seller and you'll be refunded.
I know you think it's rude but it's the easiest way, particularly if the seller is unhelpful

Lemoncroissant · 11/06/2025 20:51

Ok, thanks! Yes I do feel rude. But will just leave it then , thank you!
