Asking for my mom ! Worrying heart problems

Only seems to happen in the heat though. She’s currently in Cyprus and it’s hot ! She’s a heavy smoker. Only seems to happen on holiday but she becomes really breathless and her heart races. She is adamant it’s the heat but I’m thinking she has some underlying heart/lung issues to do with smoking. Although it’s strange only the heat seems to trigger it.
And no she won’t go to a doctor, I don’t think she’s been seen by a medical since she gave birth to me 35 years ago!!

That does sound worrying especially with ths smoking history. Heat can definitely make things worse but it might be masking bigger issue. Maybe suggest trying something like www.puffstats.com/ to help her cut down or quit could ease the pressure on her heart and lungs. Even small steps can make a big difference 🙏.

Hi thanks for the reply. She’s so in denial it’s like talking to a brick wall. She thinks if she stops smoking that will make her ill 😐
Shes said she’s feeling better today and I suspect it’ll get brushed under the carpet again but I’m convinced there is something more to it. Always coughing aswell, which she makes out is a cold.
