What's the scariest tv advert you have ever seen?

The smoking ones are usually bad.

I was at primary school in the 80s and can clearly remember the AIDS adverts with the gravestones falling over…and asking my parents what it was all about and not getting a satisfactory answer!

God and all those ones warning about not playing on railway tracks, near power lines, open water yikes it definitely left a huge impression on me…even now…I’ve looked up and shown my primary aged DC quite a few of them including Charlie says…they find the boy in the white shirt very creepy!

The chewing gum one where they have mouths talking on their foreheads, these are pretty disturbing.

The Judderman scared me, but it didn’t stop me downing Metz on a night out. Those were the days. Alcopops, no bills to pay.

I hated that Mr Soft advert for mints. He was a creepy fucker and reminded me of Noseybonk from Jigsaw so double creepy.

The British Gas one from the eighties about gas leaks terrified me.

One about a lad not wearing a seatbelt was awful.

And I remember one about 25 years ago that was a cartoon of one character being scary and agressive it looked funny at first (like Tom and Jerry or similar) then the little character wet himself and the contact details for abuse charities came up. It made me cry.

We also got shown a lot of public safety videos at school-
water safety
train tracks
chip pan
fireworks

all terrifying i remember them clearly

also the “belly’s gonna get you” Nike advert.

AIDS tombstones and generally public information.
Do they still show that type of thing in schools? I might hate them but they were very clear memorable and probably saved some lives.

I have a belly button phobia (makes me 🤢 just typing it) because of the belly’s gonna get you advert.
