Have I got an ovarian cyst? (Pondering, not expecting a medical answer!)

I've had lower pelvic pain on and off for a few weeks. Last night I had intense pain in my left shoulder whilst also having pain low down in my pelvis.

This morning I had some dried blood (tmi) on my liner. Not my period.

I've had loads pre-kids, both endo and regular ones.

This was such an intense pain in my shoulder that it's had me wondering. I don't need to get medical attention, I'm just intrigued!

Please go to your GP. 🤗

Why do you think you don't need medical attention? Definitely worth getting checked.

Yes could have been a cyst rupturing (I’ve had them) but I would definitely go to the GP, good to have it on your record if nothing else. It’s hard with cysts because they can come and go, by the time you get a scan there can be nothing there but it doesn’t mean you didn’t have one. It’s frustrating! If you feel sick / unwell at all though get urgent medical attention. I’ve been admitted to hospital with them before when I’ve had infection alongside.

Thanks, I might see if I can make a regular appointment. There's still pain but not as bad.

So yeah, turns out I had both a nasty ovarian cyst and an ovarian torsion. Had emergency surgery today!

Lesson learned, must listen to my body...
