I'm just revamping our menu for the summer and could do with some help please.
So....meze boards, what would you have on it for meat eaters, veggies and vegans.
Or poke bowls, or paninins or salads??
Please throw your ideas at me.
TIA 😊

Sandwiches made.on decent gluten free bread, with fresh ingredients.
Freshly made crustless quiche.
Love.tapas, sharing plate lunches.

To be fair I'd settle for anything that's.freshly made and gluten free, that isn't a salad!!

@Swifey40are you going to come back and let us know what ideas you like on your thread?

Disappearing OP’s are so annoying when people have taken the time to reply.

I've got to the stage where I care less about what the café is serving and more about the presence of dogs. Of the several dozen cafes in my local town every single one is 'dog friendly'.

I like dogs, but throughout the wet weather I found the smell of damp dogs in cafés quite off-putting as well as the sight of dogs sniffling any low-displayed produce. Now that it's warm and I have bare legs, I don't appreciate the frequent cold damp nose on my leg when I'm buying coffee. And I don't really want to be interacting with dogs I don't know when I've either gone for a quiet coffee alone, or a good head-to-head with good friends, yet there are far fewer days when I don't have a dog encounter of some sort than ones when I do. But it doesn't seem to be the fashion nowadays to keep one's dog close and away from strangers.

I have more-or-less given up having coffee in cafés, although I used to have one just about every day. I'm more likely to have a coffee at home or a freebie from Waitrose on a nice bench. I'm definitely getting out of the café habit. The café owners' loss is my gain - I've saved a fortune in the last few months.

Oh yes...I agree with @amicisimma . I won't go in when there's dogs lolling about, slivering, farting and panting everywhere.

GameOfJones · 13/06/2025 18:59

I completely agree @amicisimma . We always had dogs when I was growing up but would have never dreamed of taking them in a cafe or anywhere serving food and now they're everywhere! I saw a member of staff stroke a dog in a cafe the other day and then go back to serving cakes and drinks behind the till which is really unhygienic.

I agree too, I wouldn’t eat at a cafe that allows dogs in.
