I will bring sloe gin. I haven’t decided yet what to wear!

evtheria · 10/06/2025 18:55

I bring: The ingredients for margaritas; mosquito coils and those outdoor oodie things so we can sit out at dusk yapping; lots of big bags of different potato crisps and some proper ranch dip, and a suitable MN hostess gift (10-pack of toilet brushes? A whole chicken?)

I wear: One of the wedding guest dresses recently featured in the Guardian

Ayeayeaye25 · 10/06/2025 19:00

I will wear the dressing gown of doom, will bring a bottle of prosecco, picky bits, salad and some eighties tunes.

Purpleknickers · 10/06/2025 19:06

I’m bringing dessert … cutted up pear

Hoppinggreen · 10/06/2025 19:11

Well I know I am not invited but I will just come to the venue with a couple of also univited children.
We will hang around outside waiting to be invited in for food or a quick dance with someone and if anyone thinks I am BU then you are VERY rude, tight and have no interest in the comfort of your (not) guests!!!!

OudAndRose · 10/06/2025 19:14

I will bring a massive salad and no appetite.

I will go old school and wear The Mumsnet Scarf.

SardinesOnGingerbread · 10/06/2025 19:14

Party rings and wearing my bright pink pyjamas. I'll be leaving by 8.30pm because I'm not on cocaine and I'm 47.

SardinesOnGingerbread · 10/06/2025 19:15

We still talk about this in our house. If you bring the cutted up pear, I'll wee in my shorts.

OudAndRose · 10/06/2025 19:18

Will anyone be wearing the wolf fleece?

Livingthebestlife · 10/06/2025 19:21

Lettuce leaf, hard crusty bread and lentils can't be too greedy. Non alcoholic wine and I can't decide between my flowery dress or my Amish dress. I'll definitely bring books for exciting entertainment.

FurForksSake · 10/06/2025 19:24

OudAndRose · 10/06/2025 19:18

Will anyone be wearing the wolf fleece?

No, but I might dye my armpit hair bright pink, so I might bring one in case people get too excited by that. Slip it on for some cosy, thrifty, fashionable fun.

Davros · 10/06/2025 19:37

I will wear my “Woman: Adult Human Female” T-shirt and nothing else 😜
I will bring many pats of real English butter, each in its own butter dish

StressyMcStressFace · 10/06/2025 19:38

I was considering wearing a nice dress as i love dresses and always wear dresses and was hoping to buy a new dress until some bright spark said "have you considered a jumpsuit" at which point I smacked my forehead and exclaimed "Of course! I am such a such idiot for not considering something so impractical, unflattering and uncomfortable! I shall ditch all thoughts of a nice dress and be the only person I have ever met to wear a jumpsuit!"

I will not bring any food for drink as I don't want to have to use the loo which would involve me having strip naked.

Screamingabdabz · 10/06/2025 19:38

I’ll be wearing a classic - crisp white shirt.

I’ll be bringing an uninvited sibling and we will both expect a party bag full of proper plastic tat. None of this namby pamby seeds and raisins crap.

DancingDangerously · 10/06/2025 19:41

I'm sure it's already been said...

Pom bears

Artisanal Fat Balls

BBQ Badger (I think?)

Neverending Chicken

Massive MN Salad.

JockyWilsonsaid · 10/06/2025 19:41

I'll be wearing a jumpsuit and the MN scarf.

DancingDangerously · 10/06/2025 19:42

As to what I'll be wearing, I think I'll go for one of those monstrosities on the Guardian website.

As my +1 I'd like to bring an elderly Korean lady.

PomeloOud · 10/06/2025 19:49

Of course, I’ll add to the table of massive salads.

I’ll wear a Popsy dress and Saltwater sandals, or maybe mum boots and the MN scarf for the oldies.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/06/2025 19:49

OudAndRose · 10/06/2025 19:18

Will anyone be wearing the wolf fleece?

Wolef, surely?

ErrolTheDragon · 10/06/2025 19:50

Have we got enough naice ham yet?

Catarinabella · 10/06/2025 19:53

I’ll bring my penis beaker, is it that sort of party 🤣

MagpieCastle · 10/06/2025 19:53

I'd better bring some brandy and butter because this is what I'll be wearing
'When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter'

Callalilly2016 · 10/06/2025 20:53

I have changed my mind. I will bring nothing but Tupperware to hoover up leftovers and drink @BeMintFatball’s champagne 😀

SociableAtWork · 10/06/2025 22:04

Gosh, I hope someone remembers the little butter knives! Wo betide anyone leaving crumbs in the butter too! Heathens.

I hope you’ve told your neighbours the date to make sure they’re not using their own garden at the same time?!?
