Taking a newborn out for walks

I'd appreciate any tips or advice people. My little girl (3 weeks 5 days) used to enjoy going for walks in her pram, she'd be awake the whole time taking it all in and settled for about 10-30 minutes. Since the end of last week she cries as soon as we get out in the front door and won't settle. I've tried going immediately after a feed or just as she's dozing. Yesterday when I took her for 5 minutes she got overstimulated/ overtired and then wouldn't settle for a few hours. I do plan on trying a sling but wondering whether people have had similar experiences and what you did?

Definitely try the sling. For me, DC1 loved the buggy and I could take her out for hours. DC2 hated it right until we switched to the upright seat, and so I've developed some stronger muscles carrying him everywhere! Also DC1 slept instantly and for hours in the buggy, DC2 stays awake for absolutely ages outside as he loves people-watching.

Essentially, there's no rules, just babies with their own personalities already! Don't give up on going outside - just keep experimenting until you get a mix that works for both of you.

Mine hated being in the pram flat, whilst awake. As soon as he could be propped up and could see where he was going he was fine. He didn’t mind the carrier although once he was a few weeks old spent all his time craning his neck around trying to see what was going on.

He was fine once he was a few months, loved a good outing!

We had this with DD1 - she just hated lying flat in the pram, and was a really light sleeper so on the slim chance we got her to sleep she’d wake up at the slightest thing.
we found generally that she hated being overstimulated around sleep, even in the heavy sleep newborn phase. It had to be dark, and with white noise.

how does she sleep on her back normally? Could it be that she’s uncomfortable with wind? Unfortunately we found very little worked for us, and my visions of going for long walks with the pram in those early days were dashed! We bought a babymoov newborn insert and that helped a little but definitely wasn’t a solution. I also used a ergo baby embrace carrier

our second baby (currently 1 week old) is already completely different and will sleep in the pram. So I think it’s very child dependent
