Day Night blinds or something else?

Boring thread alert!

I've recently moved house. The new house is very light and sun comes through both the front and back windows (different times of the day of course)
Because of the layout it isn't really problematic but is going to kill my plants
I have a dilemma. The previous owner had blinds which are just roller or roman but very good quality. Do I replace and what with
If I got day night blinds do I need curtains too for when it's properly dark?

We have day and night blinds and nothing else at some windows downstairs. I don’t find anything else is needed, but I don’t want blackout. It might be different if you prefer to block any street lighting. The house faces south and the patio doors have perfect fit blinds to reduce glare from the sun if needed and curtains if it’s cold in winter.
