Finally have time, money and health to be able to travel further afield. I have travelled a good bit within Europe including living overseas but I would like to explore outside Europe.

I would like to choose something safe, not crazy expensive I haven't won lottery! I am a bit of a hippy at heart but I am also early 50's and need a proper bed to sleep in and don't think I would enjoy a hostel situation. But I would like an authentic experience. I think more female friendly parts of Asia, maybe Australia or New Zealand or Bali or perhaps even Africa.

I am a nervous flyer not just in terms of being on a plane but as I can get confused with connecting flights etc

So... travel aficionados help me out?

I also haven't booked a "proper" holiday in many years as I usually just stay with family/friends - being lucky enough to have several scattered around Europe. So I am out of practice!

54 here and went to Vietnam with exodus. Really fantastic. Loved it. No hassle at all.

Exodus a travel company?

A travel company with a solo trip is perfect if you want the company of other solos but not a cheap way to travel. Independent travel I suggest Sri Lanka as it’s reasonably easy to travel about, you can get cheap hotel and b&b accommodation, uber app is your friend for travel as well as trains and buses, lots of different options within a small country (from safari to surfing, ancient temples to some of best vistas in the world plus amazing food), direct flights or via Middle East
