Hello, so I recently re downloaded Instagram. Hadn't used it for a while but now is see they've changed how you can message people. Now you have to send a message request. I'm just wondering does this go straight into their messages requests and they won't know I've sent it unless they open their requests folder? Does it notify users in any other way like sending a notification in their notification panel to even let them know they have a new message request? I am trying to connect with a close old friend that I lost contact with over the years and have found them on Instagram. I know they do still use Instagram , but they are the kind of person who would rarely check their inbox as they didn't use it for messages. Anyone any insight on how they will know I've sent a message? As I've a feeling they Will not check their inbox unless they know there is a message there
