I’m tempted by an offer from one. It says you listen for 15 minutes a day and you will lose those cravings. Has anyone tried them?

Bumping as I don’t know where else to post this?

Just find free podcasts

NCTDN · 07/06/2025 20:54

I’m really asking if anyone has used them with success.

Hypnotherapy for what though? Generally, hypnotherapy should be crafted to the thing you are trying to change and your specific needs and triggers. Proper hypnotherapy includes an element of talking therapy as well. But that doesn’t mean that listening to a hypnosis track can’t be beneficial. I’ve used them, but a genuine hypnotherapy track will last about 30-45 minutes. It takes time for the body to deepen into relaxation, be in hypnosis, and come back out. That is probably not going to happen in 15 minutes. But certainly you can do a relaxation exercise or mindfulness practice or something similar in that time and that’s still a good thing.

But to answer your question, yes, I’ve used hypnotherapy quite a bit (for birth, to quit drinking, to deal with a phobia/anxiety) and it was incredibly effective.

Sorry should’ve put that in the title. Apps for weight loss.

A few of my friends have used them with great success - smoking and alcohol.

I have been using Slimpod to good effect, not hypnosis but related I would say.

NCTDN · 08/06/2025 09:41

What’s slimpod? The one I’ve been looking at is Hypnozio.

Think I’m going to try it.

I'm currently using Slimpod, it's a weightless programme where you listen to a pod every night. I haven't noticed much difference yet, but as it's reprogramming your thoughts it'll obviously take a while . I am making better decisions when shopping though.

I'd be interested in opinions on other hypnosis, due anxiety or self esteem, has anyone used these?
