Mine took about 2 weeks to settle down. Think it's normal.

I’d say it’s normal. I had one done recently and dentist told me that if it was still sore on day 5 to call her. The pain had gone by then.

That's a normal reaction to that a kind of operation.
See how it is after 5 days or so keep taking the pain medication that was likely recommended to you.
I'm sure you likely would but make sure you take it as directed, every so many hours, or the pain will take hold and it's harder to get rid of.
Hope you feel better soon!

Did you call them and ask? I was pain free as soon as my root canal treatment started.

I've had 2 root canals. The first one was painless. I had the second one a couple of months ago and the dentist told me it would be painful that day. It was find after the treatment but I had a fair bit of pain the next 2 days and nights. I rang the dentist thinking I'd gotten an infection and he prescribed antibiotics. I didn't need them because the pain was gone by day 3.
