How to keep kids entertained

We've got a five hour road trip for our holiday this year and I'm trying to think of ways to keep our 8yo and 6yo DC entertained. I'm not opposed to a bit of screen time and I'm sure there'll be time where they are just listening to music/podcasts and looking out the window, but I'd really like some other ideas too.

I've made a road trip "scavenger" hunt and we're hoping to find a park entrance route so they can get out for a play/the dog can get a decent walk.

Definitely a scavenger hunt, BUT with different items for each child. Eg cows on the right, sheep on the left, blue car, green car.

Worth going to the pound shop and getting some cheap things to entertain them, and hand them out throughout the journey.

Maybe buy a treat or two which you wouldn't normally allow.

Make little grazing boxes.

A stop at Services was always a treat for my two 😅😅
