Sorry in advance for the mundane post !!

I love Caesar salad and have it for my lunch at work. I like the pre made chicken ones but £3.50-4 per day is a bit much so I’ve been making my own.

in the past 2 weeks on 2 occasions I’ve grabbed the Caesar salad kits from Asda and Aldi - then just added some chicken and it’s so much nicer than the one I make. However, the kits do 2 portions which is great as I can get 2 lunches from it , but the dressing that comes in the kit I can only use for one because it’s in a little pack that you snip the top off so I can’t exactly save it for the next day ( and I don’t put the dressing on until just before I eat it ) . So on day 2 I used my own. None of the ones I have taste the same - i have the Aldi and Asda own brand versions and both stores extra special type versions but it’s not that , it doesn’t taste the same! So what dressings are they putting in those kits ? The kits are very cheap so I would have imagined it would just be their own brand but it does not taste the same ! Help !

It might be Cardini, which has a picture of a bloke with a moustache on it.

If you love Caesar salad, you could make your own dressing (only worth it if you have one of those mini chopper things, and also possibly not authentic as I think DP made up the recipe himself, but it tastes great and is no bother).
4 anchovies
1 clove garlic
about a tablespoon lemon juice
about half a cup of mayo
whizz in the mini chopper.

Can’t you just roll over the top and use a paper clip?

Cardini's Original Caesar Salad Dressing is really food and so is Paul Newman's creamy Caesar dressing, but this make seems to have disappeared from U.K. supermarket shelves.
Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Caesar Dressing is pretty good.

I use those kits over 2 days, I just put the dressing packet back in the fridge, it's always been fine.

Gardini's caesar dressing is delicious.

Whatever you do, don’t make your own. You’ll never want to eat the bought ones again!
