Will they remove my toenail?

Around 2 months ago maybe a little less I had an accident with a table and my toe

It bruised within about 10 minutes the pressure was awful and I struggled to walk on it
After about a week I managed to get some clear fluid tinged with brown out from under it but nothing since

This last week the nail has lifted off the toe so I can see a clear gap under it but is still very firmly rooted at the sides and base.
A crack formed so I had to remove a bit and file it.
Since then it has quickly curved rather painfully in at the sides and the feeling if pressure when standing has come back.

I have finally given in and contacted the Drs who after seeing a photo have referred me to podiatry.

What are the chances I will have the toenail removed? And has anyone gone through this?
I work on my feet 5 days a week 9 or 10 hours a day in a cafe I'm hoping recovery is very quick

They might to avoid further pain and infection. It'll start feeling a lot better afterwards once the initial postop discomfort eases.
