Tell me your random good men stories please.
I was in a beautiful touristy type town with family for a pub meal at the weekend. Although a traditional old pub, it’s known for great food. 3 middle aged men who had been drinking came in and sat down for a pint next to us. There was no where else to go. They were loud and using the f word in every sentence. One of them then started reminding his mate about going clubbing and “fingering women on the dance floor”. I turned round and gave the one facing me a death stare (wasn’t the one who said it) my DH said don’t say anything, the landlord has already spoken to them. Our young teens were engrossed in uno so although they picked up on the language and we told them to ignore them, they didn’t hear that bit.
I felt I couldn’t get up and go over to them for fear of what could happen if I’d told him not to be so disgusting, be ashamed of himself etc. The landlord did have another word a few minutes later and they left about 10mins after that.
I know not all men are like this when they are with their mates but could do with hearing uplifting stories. There are too many men like this and these guys weren’t young either. It’s so depressing and although I didn’t feel threatened, felt almost complicit by staying quiet, they can just get away with this behaviour. I wish I could have said something, but know it would not change their fundamental view of women.
