How travelled do you have to be to qualify as ‘well travelled’?

I work in the travel industry a little bit and obviously travel. Someone from a friendship group has always been a bit grumpy about this and mentioned to me the other day that I was very lucky to be ‘well travelled’. I mean, I’ve been to a lot of places but don’t consider myself well travelled. I’ve never been to Asia or Australia, for instance, but have done all of Europe several times and most of the US.

so what would most people consider to be ‘well travelled’?

I’ve travelled the length and breadth of the UK in a camper van and been to places here most people won’t ever visit.
Am I well travelled based on that?

I have been to many other places but curious as to the opinion on UK travel.

I’ve never met anyone who has traveled more than my husband. He’s been to around 130 countries and has lived in 14 of them(UAE, New Zealand, Israel, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia Kuwait, USA, Mexico and Japan). I've been to 14 countries. My dream destination is Mongolia.

I’ve done:

  • most of Spain
  • Rome and Sicily
  • paris
  • Seoul and Jeju island
  • Botswana, South Africa, Zambia
  • New York City

I would say I am not well travelled at all. However compared to my parents that have never left England I am. So there will be some situational factors as to whether someone thinks you’re well travelled

I’m 26 for context
