What colour dye for pink curtains

So have these curtains they are between red and pink but they have faded from sun damage. I was thinking of dyeing them but am confused what colour to use. Has anyone tried this. They are 100%cotton a thick fabric. There’s a colour peony pink but it’s lighter than the curtain colour. Or if I went for one of the purple shades would it just deepen the pink - which is what I want really . Anyone any advice?

You can’t dye anything lighter than the colour it already is. The dye adds to the existing colour – it can’t get rid of it. You can get colour removers that bleach out a fair amount of the existing colour and those might be worth trying.

If there is bleaching from sun damage, then when you dye them a darker colour that bit will still be lighter.
