Small double toddler mattress?

We’re thinking of getting a small double for my 3YO - plenty of room in her room etc for play and the bed. Also means could share with dc if we had guests etc and we can read together on the bed

Anyway not looking to discuss pros v cons of double v single, but we are struggling with mattress as most “kids” mattresses don’t come in doubles. Any advice from someone who got a small double for their 3YO plus and what mattress then went for? Believe we need a firm one.

why does it need to be a kids mattress? Just get a small double

You won’t get a kids small double mattress. The kids part is just marketing. Just buy a small double mattress.

We went for IKEA velvaga for the last one we bought, the same as ours because the child likes our. In the firmest option.

We recently got the Slumberland “flip” in a small double. One side is softer the other firmer so you can flip as they get older/bigger. It was very reasonably priced and I think it actually cheaper at the moment from Bensons. Our nearly 3 yo seems to like it.

Just get a normal double. No need or option for a kids one!

We just got a normal double

I didn’t know kids mattresses were a thing beyond cot sizes, and those need to be firm, but that stops being a thing once they’re no longer babies. My kids have both had double bed since about aged 3-4 and have medium firm mattress from IKEA because they seemed the comfiest at our price point. Don’t overthink it!
