Am I missing something re the Liverpool driver who caused the injuries

My prayers are with the injured and I hope they all make a full recovery and justice for their injuries.

What I don't understand is that the photo the police have released is of a bald headed man. Yet the court artist has drawn a picture and he had a lot of hair which is described as going grey.
Is the photo released from years ago and he's had a hair transplant.

I'm literally trying to put a stop to the speculation by stating the facts. Someone is arrested 'on suspicion of X,Y,Z' based on limited evidence at the scene, which is then obviously reviewed following interview & evidence. The charges are often very different from the initial arrest. That's completely normal & definitely no conspiracy it's just how the law operates.
There's people determined to find a conspiracy in anything. There really isn't one here.

I’m fully aware of how the law works. Stop discussing it all, as per cps and police instructions.

I actually haven't discussed anything about the case.

I'm trying to stop the stupid speculation with the facts.

There is no conspiracy. Some people are failing to understand how the system works & whipping it up into a conspiracy. There literally isn't.

It's okay for people to ask questions like - why is it reported that 'someone is arrested on suspicion of X ' but is then 'charged with Y'

I don't think there should be threads on this allowed but they are ride on social media so I think it's important for people with some common sense & intelligence to recognize & call out the bullshit & speculation.

Yes but you're quoting and sending notifications to the wrong people! Stop it. I understand it perfectly thanks, you're the one who keeps going on.

The video is of a man with a shaved head. The sketch of the man in court a couple of days later is of a man with hair which would take months to grow.

What video?

Believe what is in the actual mainstream news, being reported by actual reporters from reputable news gathering and reporting organisations. That are actual facts. Not crap spouted, repeated, gossiped about on the likes of Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Arrested yes, but not charged. They are different.

We all know what she meant but sure let’s ignore the point to be pointlessly pedantic

It’s weird - look at the images from the day, then the guy - the guy is far more bald and has a much larger / deeper widows peak than the image of the driver from the day!

Unless he’s had a hair transplant it’s not the same guy.

And why would this popular family guy who's been charged be happy to take the fall for someone else?
Why would all those people who looked him in the eye on the day not speak up?
How would the police get away with switching the driver for someone else?
If if was all a conspiracy, why would they choose someone with a different hairdo?
Why would anyone deliberately mow down loads of people inc kids as part of their "job"?
Why would the police cover up something more dodgy?

The conspiracy theories make no sense.

The people saying this on my Twitter people are ge really the same people who have problems with clouds.

Yes, their heads are firmly in them! I even saw a comment saying ‘someone check his DNA, there’s no way he can be full British!’’

These fucking thickos are truly unbelievable. Facts don’t matter anymore, absolutely anything goes if it’s what they want to believe. In a time with all the world’s knowledge at our fingertips, I’m convinced people are getting thicker by the day. It’s high time they started teaching critical thinking in school.

LaLaLaLavaChChChChicken · 01/06/2025 04:32

Hear ye, hear ye! the court of Mumsnet is closed. The lack of critical thinking amongst the public is frightening. The Police have asked people not to speculate.

PearlHare · 01/06/2025 17:26

I feel sos prey for the people living in that area. There’s been a lot of shit happening and it’s just so unfair. From Southport to this in less than 13 months. It’s hard for people to cope with.

I think what’s tricky with this is that people want an answer. Why the hell did he do it?! And that lack of answer is so unsettling sometimes, people like to know the whys as it helps them to deal with the problem at hand. I get asking why, I am asking why, but to suggest it is a different person is wild.

placemats · 01/06/2025 23:15

As to the why @PearlHare, I suggest you listen to It's A Fair Cop, BBC Sounds, free to listen to. Series 9, Episode 1. Bus stop assault. Sometimes there's no reason.

Alfie Moore, presenter is an ex cop.

I love that series and yes I’ve already heard it. I don’t believe there is never a why though. In that example, Alfie may not have found it as he didn’t get to the bottom of which of the two did it but there will have been a why. Maybe just because they wanted to hit someone, but there is always a why
