does anyone know what happened to a thread trending last night about a poor poster whose 5 year old had died?

I’ve been looking for it too. Really wanted to respond to her.

BIWI · 30/05/2025 23:42

Would probably have been a troll.

Why do people do that though

Needmorelego · 31/05/2025 00:36

I was wondering about that thread.

Nevernottrying · 31/05/2025 00:53

I must admit, I did wonder if it was troll as I can’t imagine loosing a child and going straight to mumsnet to post about it 😭

Verydemure · 31/05/2025 01:22

Edited as wrong thread!

HurdyGurdy19 · 31/05/2025 06:28

There was also a thread from a lady whose husband had walked out on her two days before she was giving birth. I can't find that one now, either. He had taken the car seat (and other baby equipment?) and was refusing to return them.

The lady ended up with very high blood pressure from the stress, and had the baby via a c-section. It all happened very quickly.

I followed that one too but then MN updated with "This thread has been deleted. We are taking a look behind the scenes following a number of reports" so assume it was a troll or maybe even someone scamming for money.

If the dead child post was also a troll, that's wicked.

Wish these fuckwits would find a proper hobby.

HoneyAndGarlic · 31/05/2025 07:15

The thread was taken down so Mumsnet could look into it.

I saw this thread too. Actually wouldn’t be surprised if it was fake.

When she updated saying she had had the baby about an hour and a half since her last post, I started to think this was not genuine.

This always comes up but I don’t think there’s a right way to react in those circumstances.

In all probability it is a troll and good as the alternative is worse, but in the future, if someone genuinely is bereaved and they want to come to MN, then I don’t think that’s wrong at all.

Yes, that made me wonder too. All happened suspiciously quickly

Beepbird · 31/05/2025 09:38

Thank you for the replies-seems as though it was a troll. Hopefully nobody was triggered by it. Awful.

Yeah that one was bollocks.

The turbulence one was deleted too I think
