Monthly subscriptions that make your life better

Just that really! What monthly subscriptions/ payments do you think are so worth it , little luxuries , save you money etc?

After having to budget a bit I realise I have quite a few and have cancelled some , but for me there are some I just can’t - added up it’s not a small amount but I feel justified with them!

  • Theme park passes - I have passes for my children ( one dc is entitled to a carer card so I only pay for the children ) - I have Merlin ones that are pay monthly and I have them for a very local theme park that isn’t actually a subscription, I did pay outright as Christmas presents , but they are so useful! Even if I have no money , we can go and have a day out! It actually makes the school holidays a lot easier as I don’t have to worry if I don’t have money - we stick to the local ones, take a packet lunch and we have refillable cups so with the discounts it can cost us next to nothing for a good few days per week!
  • Kindle unlimited - reading is my thing! I must get through a book a week at the very least, more when I’m off work! It’s £9.50 per month but I couldn’t be without it - I don’t drink , or go out really so it’s my treat.
  • I have Amazon prime , Netflix and Disney plus - we don’t have sky or anything, this is all we watch. However , I am thinking I need to cut down on these !

What are yours ??

Amazon prime we can't be without x

GooseOnMyGrave · 30/05/2025 22:20

@WaveafterwavesBeauty Pie is a skin, hair and make up subscription.

You pay a one off membership (for the year I think) and then can buy discounted products. But you can buy as much / little as you like when you like.

I’m not so fussed on the makeup, but love the skincare ranges.

SheilaFentiman · 30/05/2025 22:21

I wouldn’t pay for Kindle Unlimited. On prime you can borrow uo to ten books and there are so many daily and monthly deals at 99p, I think you can spend less, even as a bookworm.

Otherwise Netflix, Disney, Spotify.

ClearHoldBuild · 30/05/2025 22:23

Sew Confident. Monthly sewing subscription 🧵

poppysqueak · 30/05/2025 22:25

Bloom and Wild monthly flower subscription
Symprove - improve gut biome

HappyNewTaxYear · 30/05/2025 22:26

The Rest is History podcast subscription 👍🏻

MaloryJones · 30/05/2025 22:27

Amazon Prime
I have been watching films on it but last night thought I would look at TV Shows and there are many I will watch and that are now on my Watch list.

NotMyDayJob · 30/05/2025 22:29

Amazon Prime
klira skin stuff
Apple News (this is my most frivolous but I love being able to access loads of paywalled stuff)

stargirl1701 · 30/05/2025 22:30

Amazon Prime (I’m ashamed to admit)
Paramount Plus
Disney Plus (got it free for 3 months)
The Simple Things magazine

My library card.

neilyoungismyhero · 30/05/2025 22:32

Spotify - love the music and podcasts without the constant interruptions.

ThingsBeingVarious · 30/05/2025 22:32

Lavazza Coffee pods. I think of it as a prescription rather than a subscription.

minipie · 30/05/2025 22:32

Netflix, Ocado, Spotify, The Week Junior. Think that’s all we have

I’m a cheapskate!

I use Libby (library app) for free ebooks instead of buying them. I use amazon but I just wait till I need to order enough to get free delivery. Just cancelled Royal Palaces and RHS as we weren’t going much now kids are older. I tried Skin & Me but realised the cream I get from the GP is more effective.

Ivesaidenough · 30/05/2025 22:34

Pact coffee. I'd cut back on other stuff before getting rid of that.

You mean you can borrow books through Amazon prime?? I have prime , I didn’t know this ? How do you find them?

Bosabosa · 30/05/2025 22:45

Re prime, I only realised this yesterday too! If it has the prime sign on it you can click 'Add it to library' and it is done! How I never knew this I don't know.

Debtfreeme · 30/05/2025 22:48

Readily subscription

Umbongoumbongo999 · 30/05/2025 22:48

I started uni in the last year to do a masters part time, and the Library service has a subscription to a service called Press Reader. I can read all the pay walled newspapers, international news and all my favourite home and garden magazines. It costs me not a penny.
Otherwise, gym. Using the pool facilities at the weekend makes me feel like I'm on holiday. I have previously had good results with Zoe, but didn't feel the need to keep it on indefinitely.

I'm not bothered about the TV subscriptions. I'd cancel them if I could but various family members dip in and out of them. I pay for an Amazon Music family subscription as we have loads of alexa devices so I can listen to my music anywhere.
