It depends on what style you are looking for but if you go on next's website and filter on £100 maximum of comes up with loads of dresses

dahliadiva · 30/05/2025 01:12

Yes. Drive to a fancy place and then go charity shop shopping. Good luck!

JJ's house online. Comes from China. You can customize by size (although we ended up going to a tailor to get it fully customized). You can get literally any dress the prom stores are showing you for a fraction of the price because this is where they're coming from in the first place!

Some charity shops have special bridal outlets so may be worth a look as have some dresses ok for prom. Could try Facebook market place but only pay when you get the dress and agree to try on first.

GingerPussInBoots · 30/05/2025 01:22

thanks will check out jj

i would love to get a secondhand one but im not sure I have the time to invest but I will look locally

My daughter had hers from stacees online and it was beautiful honestly looked so expensive.

GingerPussInBoots · 30/05/2025 01:27

Is stacees online an American company
I was just worried about the return postage etc if it had to go back

We also got a dress from Stacees - ordered a made to measure custom fit. They come from China so presume another Chinese co., dress was really nice, looked same as ones in prom shop for fraction of price. Recommend

Some Oxfams have whole sections of bridesmaid/prom dresses. My DD got hers for £10.

SnobblyBobbly · 30/05/2025 03:51

Ask on a local community page, you might find that some schools and local organisations do them seasonally to raise funds. A breast cancer charity near us has a yearly preloved Prom Shop and the dresses are beautiful! But you wouldn’t necessarily know about it if you don’t actively follow their social media.

Tenducks · 30/05/2025 05:25

We’re in London and everyone goes to Finsbury Park and the masses of dress shops there. It’s prom dress central. You can try them on and get the shoes and bags etc too. Can be very cheap! Both my girls paid well under 100.

arabellacanella · 30/05/2025 08:58

ASOS is really good and you can definitely get for £100 or under.

akaFrosty · 30/05/2025 09:00

DD chose hers online from Ever Pretty. Loads of choice for your budget. The dress is lovely, and returns were fuss free via the post office.

greencartbluecart · 30/05/2025 09:01

All our local charity shops have a glut of prom dessses at this time of year ?
