Anyone recognise this film?

I watched this film in the late 80s or early 90s when I would’ve been between the ages of around 7-10. I can hardly remember anything about it but I was obsessed with it. Over the years I’ve tried searching it up many times but had nothing come back.
I can only remember two scenes. One is where the characters are sitting around a fire (I think there are two of them and they are either teens or children) and decide to become blood brothers/sisters (I can’t even remember if they were girls or boys). They use a stick to cut themselves on the hand/finger/arm rub them together and call themselves blood brothers (or sisters).
There is another scene that sticks in my head where rabbits were running up a green bank and being shot at, absolutely no idea who was shooting at them or why but I remember being absolutely petrified.
Does anyone have any idea what it could’ve been?

@BrightWolf absolutely no chance I’d have been allowed to watch a 15 at 10 let alone 7 🤣

I actually recall a parent calling everyone’s parents when we were about to watch Pretty Woman at a friends 13th birthday sleepover as her older sister told them it was a 15, she rang them all for permission for us to watch it! Doing that took longer than the bloody film as it was back in the days of landlines!

Just to add, the blood bonding scene isn’t actually by a fire I don’t think (looking at the trailer) but otherwise it’s exactly as I remember with them using sticks to make cuts in their fingers and then rub them together. I think maybe the campfire bit was another scene. I’m interested to watch it and find out. I’m really hoping it is Celia. All those years of searching and I can’t believe the second post on a mumsnet thread nailed it (probably. hopefully 🤞🏻).
Aww @WhatICallMyUsername that’s sweet of them. My parents were very lax and we had a lot of freedom. They didn’t even know most of what we watched but even when they were aware of us watching inappropriate stuff they didn’t mind. I thought it was probably quite usual for the time but maybe not 😅

@BrightWolf it's on Amazon prime? Awesome! I will have a look.
@Goalie55 Channel 4 was probably where I first saw it.

They do the blood brother thing in My Girl

That's what I was thinking too

Was it the Outsiders op?

There was a 60s black and white film about a little Christian boy and Jewish girl who bond and she takes him to the synagogue. There was definitely a blood bonding ceremony in it. It was very moving.
