Second '100 days' working out much like the first, but with a Vance-proof Pope, a bigly white elephant plane, a few more legal push backs and way more grifting.

Perhaps he ought to concentrate on detente between Meghan Markle and the Duchess of Edinburgh, one of whom seems to be a reasonable person.

I think some MNetters may be realising why relying on "AI" might be a problem.

(You will notice that this "answer" demonstrates that "AI" doesn't actually know anything. Knowing is obviously a function of intelligence*. If you aren't intelligent, you can't know)

*And yes, I will fight you over that.

I’m really impressed with how Trump got the Gallagher brothers to reconcile and perform as Oasis again Wink

They'd do anything for money and attention.

You really need to hear this to appreciate it .... all you can heat is the squeak of the tanks. It is beyond cringe.

I'd heard that he's got the Beatles back together...

And that they're re-recording "Yellow Submarine" with a slight colour change 🍊

prettybird · 15/06/2025 16:08

Who persuaded the Gallagher brothers to reconcile again and perform as Oasis?

According to ChatGPT, no one Confused - which presumably means that all those people who have bought Oasis concerts for later this year are going to be very disappointed Smile

tbh, @prettybird it's not beyond the realms to think that they won't do the concerts...unless they really do need the cash.
Imagine the premium they have to pay for cancellation insurance? 🤯

I just followed up my last question. In theory you can't see the weighting model this version of C-GPT uses (or indeed any model). That means you can't see what it "thought" it knew to answer the question.

Wait until it starts "reading" holy texts. I hope OpenAI have very robust security.

Next time I'll limit it to 100 words. I still hurt from laughing.

Who's going to repair the road after his parade has passed the empty bleachers and gone home?

A musical comment on the end to Trumps day ... (full disclosure: this song makes me want to vomit. But I'm pleased it's found a use ....)

😂😂😂😂

DH appreciated this one.

He was working on some proper low level microcontroller stuff that he had never done before, yesterday, and as it was so new to him it took him most of the day to figure it out, even though it was a simple process. There was no available documentation relating to the entirety of what he was trying to achieve so he had ChatGTP alongside him so that he could generate instructions at the end of the task, which it did, but not without being quite patronising about how long it took him 😂

RafaistheKingofClay · 15/06/2025 17:32

Global peace through culture initiative. 😂

Russia’s have hit the Boeing offices in Kyiv. Which obviously is Biden’s fault and wouldn’t happen if Trump was president.

Yeah, just because it's "AI" doesn't mean it's completely useless. (Very few things are).

The patience comment is interesting. I have seen a very pawky vein of humour developing, against which I must learn to guard against.

I was chatting to some friends last week about autonomous cars, and we were trying to create a matrix to evaluate any perceived human advantages over "AI" with weaknesses.

If you take that an autonomous car should be able to pass a driving test, then it's level of ability is at least the equal of a human. However from there, it's all downhill for humans. Most accidents are not caused because human drivers can't drive. They are caused by misjudgement or impaired reactions (which include drugs, drink and fatigue) or wilful lawbreaking. None of which will affect an "AI" driver.

And, lest we forget, about fatigue (and this is a general point ....)

AI is out there, it can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with, it doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop…

He sure did.

It's time for Cavey's Podcast Plug!

Today it's Pod Save America and their interview with Erica Chenoweth, a political scientist who has studied how people confront authoritarianism and respond to democratic backsliding. She is the one that identified the "3.5% Protest Rule" - that is to say in her studies of 323 campaigns over the last 100 years, every single one that surpassed engagement with 3.5% of the population had been successful.

For context, 3.5% of the US population is around 12 million, and it is estimated that about 10 million people engaged with the No More Kings protests over the weekend.

Footage of the parade, the troops are giving the same sort of attitude as teenagers who have been forced to go for a walk. Some very interesting discussion of the music choices, particularly Fortunate Son which was a Vietnam protest song referencing rich men’s sons dodging the draft like a certain Donald Trump. He received a cease and desist letter from the author of the song John Fogerty for using it repeatedly in 2020 without permission https://bsky.app/profile/bubbaprog.lol/post/3lrm4ekho5k2b
