Yeah, just because it's "AI" doesn't mean it's completely useless. (Very few things are).
The patience comment is interesting. I have seen a very pawky vein of humour developing, against which I must learn to guard against.
I was chatting to some friends last week about autonomous cars, and we were trying to create a matrix to evaluate any perceived human advantages over "AI" with weaknesses.
If you take that an autonomous car should be able to pass a driving test, then it's level of ability is at least the equal of a human. However from there, it's all downhill for humans. Most accidents are not caused because human drivers can't drive. They are caused by misjudgement or impaired reactions (which include drugs, drink and fatigue) or wilful lawbreaking. None of which will affect an "AI" driver.
And, lest we forget, about fatigue (and this is a general point ....)
AI is out there, it can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with, it doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop…
