It was more trudging than marching.

Some of the troops resembled teens told to sort their floor for dirty laundry which they were still wearing judging by the creases and handed the detergent and an instruction manual with directions to the washing machine.

It was not a Military Parade, more a long, dawdling walk with the promise of next weekend off if you manage not to fall asleep/accidentally shoot someone.
