We have a weekend here soon. Hoping to hire a boat for a day and do a little tour. Has anyone done this and got any recommendations for pubs… apparently you can moor up outside some of them for lunch?! Any recommendations would be great :) just two adults and a dog.

South Walsham broad and pop into The Malsters for lunch. The Granary opposite is also a cute little shop where you can have a coffee, pick up small gifts or get an ice cream. You could then walk two minutes up the hill to Ranworth Church and climb their bell tower (for free!) to see some gorgeous views 😊

Agree ranworth but it's busy so aim to get there early. Day boats might be easier to moor tho

I also like wroxham

Where you can get to depends on where you starting tho. You can only go 3/4 miles an hour.

Thanks both. Think we will be starting from Hoveton. Do you just pull up outside a pub and find a place to “moor” (park?!)

Ranworth is in one direction wroxham the other. I'd plan to drive as much as possible boat hire is expensive so you don't want to miss out on all the nature by sitting in a pub.

Yes you pull in. There will be spaces for day boats normally. Sometimes you have to pay Sometimes it's included if you eat there. Depending on the time of year you go will determine availability. It's like a car park in that all the spaces are gone. Tough luck.

Ps my dog fell in last time we had a day boat as he misjudged the gap so do use the life jacket
