I’ve had a fasttrack 2 week referral for a scan after an exam for unexplained vaginal bleeding (I’m over a year now of no periods, I’m 56)

Anybody know how long results take?

I was made redundant last month, my husband died unexpectedly a week later of a heart attack and now I have been referred for ‘suspected gynaecological cancer’.

Its all happening very fast here. Wish me luck tomorrow Wednesday please I am terrified.

I have two dependant children at home who witnessed their dad dying and tried to help me revive him. The thought of them being told something awful after the results of this scan tomorrow is playing hugely on my mind. I’m still grieving for my husband, the finances are in a mess, my son is on the middle of GCSEs, and I have no friends now my husband has died.

There’s nobody to come to the scan with me.

Update

all clear the gynaecology cancer letter is to fast-track you for scans I learnt wish I’d known that to begin with .

Thankyou everyone for your replies I did read them all I am very, very grateful for your support Thankyou so much x

Gosh @0500hours Im so relieved you have had some good news after all you are currently going through.

I know how worrying the thoughts of a cancer diagnosis is and for you with the loss of you husband and job recently there are no words.

Please take good care of yourself for the next while. Focus on yourself and your beautiful children to get through this time. Life can be so bloody cruel but in time there will be beauty ahead too. Even in the grief, the good memories do help. You deserve better days ahead I am praying that they come your way.

I hope you hear back soon. What an awful time for you. Easy to say but try not to panic re the fast-track - this happened to me recently and I thought the way they were reacting and booking appts so quickly meant I was 100% going to need treatment, but my results were clear and it was just the system working as it should. Sending a hug.

I'm very glad that that is out of the way for you, OP.

Sending hugs.

Glad you've had a good result, OP. Thanks for letting us know.

I hope your DC's GCSEs are going OK and that you are now able to have a rest for a little while before looking for/starting a new job.
