I have done something really stupid! Do I really need medical help?

I can go into the details if needed but I have a wad of toilet paper stuck up my nose! About a 1/4 of a square sheet if it matters.

it’s totally gone, can’t see it with a torch and trying to blow my nose does nothing. I can’t even feel it.

FFS do I really have to go to the Dr as a 43 year old and tell them this? What’s the worst that can happen if I ignore it?

Yes, do. Our son stuffed things up his nose (pumpkin seeds, raisins etc.) when he was a little lad to the point where I was seriously worried that A&E would think I had Munchausens by proxy.

I was so embarrassed. Usually, they laughed and said something along the lines of, “oh, he’s at it again”. They did tell me each time though that if he did it again it was important to come in and have the obstruction removed.

Re children putting small things up their noses. There is a technique called a 'Mothers kiss'. Lie your child down and put your mouth over their mouth making a secure seal. Hold the non blocked nostril closed with a finger and then give a hefty blow. This is usually enough to dislodge small items such as peas, and pebbles. Try it twice then if it doesn't work go to A&E. My granddaughter had stuck a pea up her nose and I went ballistic when I found out her parents had got it out with tweezers! I told them about the mothers kiss and the next time my granddaughter did this her mum successfully blew the pea out of her nose. Many years ago as a nurse there was a patient came to the ENT clinic where I was working. The man had severe rhinitis. The consultant found a tiny lego piece (one of those tiny disc, coin things) up his nose and skin had grown over it. It must have been lodged there since he was a child and had to be surgically removed. OP I would ring 111 for advice but you may have to go to A&E.
