Fraud using these details?

Can you be scammed by providing your name / telephone / email then receive a call from them on WhatsApp? I’m paranoid because life is hard enough already.

I didn’t give any bank details although they did ask for it.

Don’t think they can take out any loans etc without your date of birth.

You’ll just get a load of emails from “M&S” (yeah right) about free hampers and other obvious nonsense. Open nothing until you check who it’s really from and click on no links or pdfs.

They will try really hard now they have ways to contact you. Prepare for phone calls from the bank or your ‘daughter’ texting you from a friends phone that shes lost her purse and can you wire her some cash…

I’d have a think whether my email password was strong enough in case they try to hack it.

Thanks. It was on Facebook. I sent a query on and they replied saying they had sent me a message and it went from there. When they started asking for bank details I did start to think it was weird. I was sleepy after a rough night with kids and wasn’t thinking to start with, then I realised it wasn’t right.

Does Facebook send you an email for security / identification reasons ?
I would also consider changing my FB password.

No I had nothing so I reported it as a scam and Facebook responded saying they’ve not broken any rules or something. Definitely a scam though

Your email address and telephone number will have been put on an "active" list so you may get more spam over the next few weeks.
