Denim shorts for 50yo

Couldn’t find a pair in the shops. Brought some loose straight leg dark jeans in the sale and will try chopping them off and hemming them.

approx size 14. legs okay, but certainly don’t want to wear the denim shorts I loved in my 30s.

what sort of length works well. Day to day wear. Rural. Will wear with a printed tee or cotton/linen shirt. Very rural so either trainers or slip on shoes.

I like the Halara ones, they've various lengths but they're nice and stretchy

Have seen some classic looking things on Halara. Was unsure of the quality as it used to be in Insta adverts.

I've got a couple of pairs of jeans from them (after being nervous about them from the ads!) and have been really pleased with them 😄

@Denimshorts I've done exactly the same as you, and I am going to cut them so they fall on my knees.

Look up ‘jorts’, Next do some nice ones and I’ve seen a lot of people wearing them.

@BashfulClam They look great, but I don’t think I am tall enough.

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads I did it years ago for some white denim shorts and they were great. My knees don’t have a nice shape (they go out) so I think I will go a few inches above.

I'm in my 50s. I have a couple of pairs in different lengths. One pair just above the knee, the others shorter. (Both from Next) I've also got a pair I cut off muself sort of mid thigh . (In my defence I spend a lot of time at my allotment and they are practical)

Halara are great btw... I have a pair of dungarees, and a pair of jeans and they are SO comfortable!
