Hen do help - Clapham Edition

I need your help please wonderful hive mind. I’m planning a UK hen do for a friend who is having another, multi-day hen do in the country she is from and where the wedding is being held.

(this next bit may not seem relevant but providing it for context to help with venue selection) I, and the other attendees, are clients of hers (I have never met the others). We are in our early 40s, she is in her early 30s. The bride to be wants a partying hen do.

Initially I had just asked her if I could take her out for dinner and drinks to celebrate because I would be missing the one in her country (I’m a bridesmaid) and she asked if I could invite these other people, of whom 3 are unable to attend, so we’ll be a group of 4. I had booked sketch for dinner as a start, but one attendee asked for something for more local, so muggins here changed the location to Clapham.

I don’t know Clapham at all anymore (I think I last went out there in 2009…) My plan is, based on extensive googling and chat-gpting

  • Tsunami for dinner
  • Cocktail Club for a drink
  • Aquum for the rest of the evening
is that a good plan? Does anyone have any other recommendations? Little Orange Door is fully booked and Tonight Josephine has permanently closed ☹️ Also I would love it but don’t think bride would so no infernos please 🙏🏽

Thank you!

I'm a North Londoner so no help for your actual question but I'm intrigued about a hen do of client's 🙂

Hello. Archer Street down the road (5 mins by bus) is really good fun. It is a posh infernos. You would need to book though as it gets v. busy!

Actually going back to the Hen do query, have you decided against a central location to please one of the other attendees?

If I was the hen then Clapham wouldn't be my choice at all. How much input has the bride had? Did she decide on London? Maybe you need to tell her about the Clapham plans.

Edited

She’s a mother’s help and we’ve become close over the years, as she has with other clients too. We’re all invited to her wedding abroad.

Thank you! Didn’t come up in my searches at all. Do you suggest ending the night there or stopping for a drink after dinner?

Yes I did - and they’re not even attending now. People pleaser extraordinaire right here.

There was so much input and chopping and changing from others and the person dropped out after I had communicated the Clapham plan. All my friend wants is everyone to have a good time, which I don’t know how to do because I don’t know anyone 😂Conversely I just want her to have a good time but don’t know how to do it because I don’t know Clapham. I figure enough alcohol and everyone will be happy right?!

She suggested somewhere close by to the rest of her clients initially, so don’t think she’d be averse to the location.
