We’ve been predicted showers since about Wednesday.
So far theres been one night it rained for about 20 minutes and then 5 minutes of a few spits a couple of days.
Today it’s been grey clouds all day and I ‘m still thinking I need to water the garden, Raining where you are?

SW Scotland. Very much needed after our 3 week spell of 27 degr es x

omaih · 24/05/2025 17:16

@Goingawayistricky it rained overnight here in SW London.

In the forecast they usually give you a % probability. Did you notice what it was? When it's breezy, the rain clouds move quickly and it's more difficult to predict their path. My DH looks up the live satellite pics of the rain clouds on the weather.com app and can usually tell fairly accurately whether any are likely to pass over in the next hour or so.

Drizzled all day in South Wales! Smelt a bit ‘stormy’ this morning.

Callmebaroness · 24/05/2025 17:20

I'm in the south east. It rained heavily all morning where i live near coast. DS - ten miles inland - no rain at all. It's very localised it seems.

FutureCatMum · 24/05/2025 17:40

I watered all of my plants yesterday as they looked in a poor state. It’s been raining since. I think it’s my fault.

faerietales · 24/05/2025 17:40

It rained overnight here (Cumbria) but nothing all day despite being forecast and looking dark almost constantly.

babystarsandmoon · 24/05/2025 17:43

It rained throughout the night and we had a short rain shower this morning.

Goingawayistricky · 24/05/2025 17:45

@Callmebaroness I’m SE about 20 miles from the coast. We really heed a proper soaking.

@omaih good shout with the satellite. Weather app is saying 10% today up to 30% Monday . So less likely than likely Grrr.

Pishing it down in Ireland!

the80sweregreat · 24/05/2025 17:51

Not much in my part of Essex ! A bit this morning
We need rain. It’s unnatural weather and the garden is barren looking

the80sweregreat · 25/05/2025 21:33

We need a good down pour of rain
it’s too dry !

Goingawayistricky · 25/05/2025 22:51

So a day of full wall to wall sun today.
Alexa tells me it's definitely on the cards tomorrow ( and it is bank holiday) so I can only hope.

We’ve had some heavy showers this evening.

suki1964 · 25/05/2025 23:18

We were forecast rain Friday to Friday ( Northern Ireland ) - and yep it's been raining heavily since Friday lunchtime. Not contsant but right downpours. Im sure it will make its way down you you soon

Goingawayistricky · 27/05/2025 08:13

Monday - 2x 10 minutes showers.

Two loads of washing dried on the line and wasn't heavy enough to warrant a coat. Read my book on the lounger after lunch in the sun.

Dry last night.

Fingers crossed for today.

Cricket One Day Internationals are starting.
After weeks of gorgeous sunshine, I suspect you'll find the rain wherever the next match is due.

Hiddenhouse · 27/05/2025 17:54

We’re in Horsham and we’ve had a decent amount with more to come. I’m glad really as nature needs it but also looking forward to the return of the sunshine later in the week
