Which is the best Champneys?

I know not everyone is keen but I’ve got vouchers to use so it has to be a Champneys. I went to Forest Mere on my own last year. It wasn’t perfect but for what I wanted to do (yoga, meditation, flopping around with a book) it worked. I’ve also been to the Tring one, which at the time was packed & seemingly full of noisy hen parties (nothing against noisy hen parties but I wanted to relax). What are the others like? Do they all have different vibes? I don’t want treatments so the pool area is really important.

I should have added that Henlow seems to be much cheaper than the others so I’m guessing this is a reflection of the facilities?

I’ve been to Henlow and Tring.
I prefer Henlow. It’s smaller so not as busy and I’ve never seen any big parties there. The conservatory is lovely and my favourite place to curl up with a book.
I don’t think any of them are worth full price so only go when there are 50% off offers. They are also charging now for all classes except aqua fit. Squeezing every last penny out of us!
The pool at Henlow has lots of seating so does tend to get busy but I think it’s nicer than Tring.

I’ve only been to Forest Mere and Eastwell Manor. Would not recommend Eastwell Manor.
Absolutely loved Forest Mere and have been multiple times. From speaking to others, Forest Mere is the best one x

We used to go to Springs which we enjoyed but now go to Mottram Hall every year and do a 3 night stay when they have their deals on. Going next month on a fabulous deal. Lovely pool area, the treatments are great although I know you don’t want them. Me and my friend find it very peaceful and relaxing and the outside space is lovely too, as is the food!

@Namealreadyinuse1 Is Mottram Hall a Champneys?

@Namealreadyinuse1 Ignore me. I got confused about the spas & spa hotels.

Yes, spa hotel. We mainly go to that one as it is half way for me and my friend in Cheshire.

Yes, don't bother with Eastwell Manor. We ended up there last month and the hotel is looking very tired and a bit shabby. The food wasn't that great either.

Just returned from one night at Tring. Didn’t pay full price as it was an offer. I was a bit worried after reading some negative reviews but we had a lovely 1 night stay. The food was good, great gyms and big swimming pool, lovely facial included. It can get a bit crowded at times around the hydrotherapy pool but I felt this was balanced out by the quality of other facilities. A few minor issues with systems and queuing for meals. Our room in the main building was fantastic and the grounds are lovely, on the whole really relaxing. My main comment after seeing negative reviews online is that there are some extremely vocal, annnoyong and entitled people who go there . I heard people making quite ridiculous complaints and I would say some of the issues are not about Champneys but the clientele! Just because of this I will stay Up North for future spa visits to avoid the posh moaning southerners!

I’m currently sat at Henlow, outside, looking for feedback on other Champneys, to see which one to book next!
I’ve been to Springs with a couple girlfriends and that was ok. Tring was only lovely on the Terrace and garden, IMO, I thought the spa would be far nicer than it was, so was a bit disappointed, needs a bit of light renovation.
But Henlow, I expected to be so so, and it’s not. I don’t see anything that’s tired, there’s ample places inside and outside to have private time to relax, customer service is friendly, I am definitely coming here again. So the spa isn’t that big (sauna and steam rooms are on the small side, just like the other Champneys I’ve been to), but I’ve preferred it to both Tring and Springs.

Can you use the gym on a spa weekend without any inductions etc ?
