My friend was on that back in the 90s in the city. Gave it all up to run a small holding, found love and married.

Sons friend was on that in re-insurance bought houses in his home country. Packed it in at 40 .

Both careers were ultimately burn out situations.

I know someone who was a low level trader in a big american bank, who took the wrong lift out of the office and ended up chatting to the ceo who took a shine to him, within a year he was on the path to the big bucks and now is earning insane amounts.
The lawyer salary of your sons girlfriend is about right for city firms at that age, but they work double the hours. So their salary is acrually half that on an hourley rate.
I was going to switch to law but decided against it due to the hours. Had no desire to work 16 hour days for several years. Thats why most city lawyers are a little bit unhinged (from someone that knows a fair few of them 😂)
