Extra wide fit tap shoes!

I’ve decided to start up tap dancing, having stopped when I was 14. I’m nearly 50 and three stone heavier!

In that time, I’ve also developed bunions and need really wide fit shoes. Does anyone know enough to recommend a brand and style of tap shoes that might suit please? I’m a size 4.

Capezios have a wide width size available. You'd be best to go to a dancewear shop so you can try different brands on though.

Men's shoes might be wider than women's

Or you could just buy some suitable street shoes and buy separate tap plates and have a cobbler fix them to the soles

If you buy a good pair of wide leather tap shoes you should be able to stretch them to fit your feet by getting a shoe stretcher spray and a shoe stretcher. My right foot is wider than my left so I do this with one shoe.
