Menstrual cycle and bowel movements

Sorry for the weird chat 😂 but posting here to see if anyone sees a correlation between change in bowel movements and their menstrual cycle? Not only period, but also ovulation?

3 months after my c section, I noticed a change in bowel movement. More frequent and less “solid”. I’ve been trying to decipher the reason for this change. I thought perhaps the antibiotics? But seems too long to have been that. I’ve had tests done, cut out foods… gluten seems to have helped but there’s still not a lot of consistency and now I’m wondering if my cycle is affecting it. I’m ovulating today and suddenly needed to go to the toilet, despite no change in my diet.

Anyone else experience similar? Or even just any c section mums who also have experienced change in bowel movements 6 months post section? The surgery is so close to the bowel, maybe I need internal investigation

I think there is evidence that women have loose bowel movements around their period due to a change in hormones so I would imagine that it is perfectly possible at ovulation too.

Yep it's hormones. Known thing.
