hi, im wondering if anyone has any advice on what to do im at a bit of a loss
im on day 3 of Covid (tested a big fat positive on Monday) & at first it was mild. Then from yesterday I began having shortness of breath that escalated quite quick. I have had asthma all my life and the past 6 months the attacks have got quite severe with triggers such as cats and pollen along with smoke in a bar. The doctors at my surgery put me on a course of steroids (2 days left) & they listened to my chest and said im wheezy but my oxygen is 97% & blue inhaler is helping with these attacks. I was sent home and told Covid should improve by day 5 but I keep having these attacks. Not only am I stopping to pause when walking and trying to breathe more when sat, I keep having asthma flare ups and attacks. I take about 3 puffs each time but it keeps coming back. The blue inhaler only helps for say half an hour or an hour then im flaring again and short of breath. Today I had such a bad asthma attack in the isolation room I felt I was suffocating I couldn’t catch my breath.
the doctors said they are happy for me to go home and wait Covid out because it’s Covid causing the shortness of breath and the blue inhaler is working somewhat but I keep flaring and having bad asthma attacks.
what do I do? I know that 111&999 are always here and available but what would you do?
I always hesitate calling them cos I don’t wanna keep hounding them but these attacks keep coming and they’re not good.
tia x
