Epley will only work for BPPV (positional vertigo, loose crystals)

Does the spinning only happen when you turn your head a particular way ie rolling over in bed? And last a few seconds only?

Or does the spinning come on randomly?

It is debilitating, yes. Been there myself and even after the Epley worked, I still felt dizzy for months after. If it isn't BPPV it could be Meniere's or migraine and the epley would make you feel worse in that case. If it is BPPV are you sure you're treating the correct side?

Hi maddie mine was never spinning mine was always hard to explain but more of a spaced out feeling right from the word go, I was walking along but on occasion went to the right side even when I corrected myself it was a spaced out heavy feeling in right ear with nausea as felt so dizzy, dr did eply at the surgery three times both directions so I was moving head 6 times, I did think menieres , I did actually have spinning floor coming up six months before after starting Pilates but six months later this is definately a feeling of being spaced out, dr did neurological tests of one which I fell when shutting eyes and putting arms out, other neurological tests fine, he’s sending me for hearing test as can hardly hear in right ear after microsuction saying if anything untoward that they find they will let him know, don’t think it’s migraine related as no headaches and I don’t really get them at all it’s a mystery!

Did the epley do anything? Did you get eye movement with it?

Could be BPPV if you felt nauseous, even without eye movement. See if you can find a vestibular physiotherapist in your area. They should be able to help. Antihistamines can also help with the dizziness, plus if it is BPPV take vitamin D. People with BPPV are often lacking. I feel spaced out with it too. Anyway, vestibular physiotherapist should be able to give you a definitive answer. Good luck
