Absolutely sickening.

Budding killers for sure. Writes itself.

Yet we hang chickens up by their feet and dunk them in to electrified boiling water, and call it dinner. The way we treat animals is fucked up beyond repair.

I hadn't heard of that. Googling it though, it seems like it's to stun them. Not nice, no, but the most humane method that has been developed I guess. Killing animals for food quickly is much different to torturing, then killing slowly, animals for fun. In my opinion.

TurtlesDoNotPetsMake · 27/05/2025 21:22

I've worked in a slaughter house. It is the very epitome of torture. 10 thousend chickens an hour and 9 thousend pigs a day. Calfs, sheep and pigs all know they are stood in a kill line. They can smell the blood, and hear the distressed cries. Many before that are caged or barned in dark eye watering conditions.
There is no humane knife that slits their throat. It's a twisted world. Those poor poor kittens are a drop in the ocean unfortunately.

Howspieduh · 28/05/2025 11:36

@TurtlesDoNotPetsMake how did you get into doing that job? If you don't mind me asking. I couldn't! And I do similar work, in terms of, working with animals, that is controversial and a lot of people don't agree with.. but it's on rare occasions when we need to humanely kill.

TurtlesDoNotPetsMake · 30/05/2025 14:28

Through an agency. So i've worked in a few. Lifelong vegetarian but always had the view that everyone has the right to choose what they sit down at their tables to eat. Which they still do of course. But until we send our labradors and beloved cats to these 'humane' deaths, I will always point out they are not good places.
