Help me name my new jewellery range!

They are stacking rings with a selection of coloured gemstones. I am making a gold set and a silver set, and the customer can mix and match. I want a name that is light hearted and fun. I quite like ‘Pick and Mix’ as a name, because they are a bit like sweets. But I don’t know if it’s too frivolous.
Please help me, I need to decide by the end of the week. (Excuse my old lady fingers, I need a model with beautiful hands!).

I like Carnival Gems .
I have been looking for a very long time for a ring of this kind to go with a similar vintage one I already wear daily that has three small colored stones.

Could you pm me with your contact info OP when these become available ? Thanks!

Crikeyalmighty · 20/05/2025 23:27

@User27563ooh I like that

BreadInCaptivity · 21/05/2025 01:12

Given it’s a range not a brand @Thingsthatgothat’s a fun element to higher end products I think you need to be careful not to cheapen either by association.

I think they are beautiful btw and my first thought was of Venetian Artisan Glass with all the vivid colours so what about Murano (where the glass is made) as a range name?

Re: marketing you can reference the “inspiration” of carnival, fun, colour, opulence and lux craftsmanship.

Another thought in a multi colour theme is Harlequin as a range name.

The Rio Collection

IamEarthymama · 21/05/2025 05:57

Thank you all for such brilliant ideas. I like Harlequin a lot - but will people think of DCcomics do you think?
I don’t think that I’m allowed to post a link here, sadly, but I really appreciate all of the compliments and words of encouragement. ❤️

Would you possibly be able to give some suggestions of what we should be googling, if we did want to look at your jewellery range? Just cryptic enough that you would not be advertising on mn! Grin

I didn’t jump to the DC reference though it’s possible some people might.

However if they do I’m not sure it’s a bad thing.

Harley Quinn is a pretty cool character (as is the rather stunning Margot Robbie).

Thus the idea she/the character might wear your rings as a mental leap I’d consider positive brand reinforcement.

Something like this is only an issue if the association is potentially negative and I really don’t think it is here (even if you didn’t like the movies).

Crikeyalmighty · 21/05/2025 17:24

@Thingsthatgo harlequin is great- I’ve annoyed myself that I didn’t think of it - lol!!!

BreadInCaptivity · 23/05/2025 21:15

@ThingsthatgoEnd of the week OP. Do we have a name so we can google your beautiful rings and add them to our wish lists 😀

Istilldontlikeolives · 23/05/2025 21:58

Approximately how much would they be? I love them.

Thingsthatgo · 24/05/2025 09:28

I would love to tell you where to buy them, but Mumsnet has been a bit of a lifeline to me for over a decade, and I’d be gutted if they threw me off.
They are not up on the website yet anyway, because I need to send them away for hallmarking and take some decent photos.
Price wise, the chunky one will be around £1700 I think, because gold is so expensive at the moment.
I’m going to make a set that are silver with gold settings which will be cheaper, and maybe also silver with platinum settings as platinum is pretty cheap right now and lots of people like white metal. (Although yellow gold is really popular at the moment).
if they sell well I’ll also make an all platinum range, and I’ve got plans for matching necklace and earrings too.
Thank you all for your help - at the moment Harlequin is my working title! I think it will be fun to take some photos on coloured fabrics.

@ThingsthatgoGood luck with the launch OP. I think they are beautiful.

I’m a yellow gold fan (allergic to silver and my colouring suits yellow metal better anyway) and I think the gems look amazing against the gold.

Told DH and he’s promised to add a ring to my Birthday list if you go with the name I suggested as he thinks it would be nice for me to have, so let us know when you launch and we can try and google them 😀.

Oooh I much prefer Carnival to Harlequin. Harlequin puts me in mind of this slightly creepy clowns. Not as creepy as Pierrot though!

edited for typos

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I decided on Kaleidoscope in the end, and they are proving popular in the shop! They are great for people who want old jewellery remodelled because I can incorporate all types of gemstones into them.
They are not on our website yet, that’s my next job. Thank you all for your encouragement, it was exactly what I needed to get this project off the ground.
