8 month old biting

He’s teething at the moment, but the biting is a lot worse than my older child’s ever was. Every few minutes he wants to but my arm or leg. Breastfeeding is horrific. He won’t bite teething rings etc, just wants to bite me.

Just now he crawled up to me, bit me, and then crawled off.

At the moment I’m just trying out various textures for him to bite down on, and saying no and moving him away. But he’s persistent.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried those teethers that you can put in the freezer? You can also get some that you can put frozen fruit inside so that while they’re biting for relief they get the fruit juice out as well so might be more satisfying.

With breastfeeding you may find that it’s usually just at the end of the feed and the latch changes slightly and that’s when they’ll bite? I stick a finger in his mouth when I can sense he’s going to to break the latch or stop a feed early when I can tell he’s stopped feeding and is more on it for comfort. Also make sure when you put them on that their mouth is open really wide, if the latch is a good one then they shouldn’t be able to bite while feeding.

I found it only really lasted a week or so when a tooth was pushing through and then would go back to normal but some babies are definitely more biters than others!
