Toddler fevers, when to worry?

DD is 2.5, on Friday after nursery said her wee was poking her and had a tummy ache. It settled but we had her wee checked at out of hours and it was clear. Saturday she was her usual self and Sunday morning as well. But by Sunday evening she was saying she had a tummy ache, didn’t want to eat dinner (had a cracker and a bit of squash). Felt warm but no fever (37.3 I believe). Woke up at midnight, felt hot but was not 38. Said her tummy hurt, gave her calpol. She was cheerful this morning, went to nursery, ate and drank well there but again this evening refused her supper and just wanted to lie on me and fell asleep. Again feels hot and has says her tummy hurts but only 37.5. Doesn’t want calpol.

no other signs of illness, should I be concerned? I remember reading once that fevers and tummy pain can be a sign of leukaemia, should I ring the GP tomorrow?

Treat the symptoms not the temperature. A temperature is a normal response to a body fighting some sort of infection (although your daughter doesn’t really have a temperature!)

She most likely is battling some sort of stomach bug, by all means take her to the doctor again if it’s not improving but I would focus on the symptoms of her stomach ache not the low level temperature.

Thank you, we’re now on the fifth night of this. I can’t quite figure out what the tummy pain is. She feels quite warm again but thermometer is 37. Says her tummy hurts and wakes up. Had a normal wee in the toilet and had a poo at nursery. No vomiting or diarrhoea.

My 2.5 year old son is acting very similar. He was sick on Sunday and Sunday evening (but was fine all Sunday morning) then swings between being super hot, tired, miserable off his food to asking for snacks and jumping around in the garden.
I'm guessing it's a bug but seems very strange.
Hope your little one gets better soon

I agree treat the symptoms- medicine, lots of water and feed as they require
We have been offering lots of fruit and ice lollies
