It's changed such a lot over the last 15 years or so. Someone will pay that happily. I agree though, I wouldn't pay that much for a flat anywhere, though I do think this is lovely. It's a great area too.

That's what people aren't realising, it's the area that's the pull. I'd love to live in that area.

IsoldeWagner · 19/05/2025 23:38

What a beautiful property. I hate the grey and beige, though, but that's easily painted over with a more sympathetic palette. Beautiful building.

Vaxtable · 20/05/2025 00:23

Hate the kitchen, no storage what so ever

Glasgow maybe, but you’d pay double that in a similar area in Edinburgh.

Whereas in Dundee you could buy a brand new 5 bed detached property.

I can’t even afford a hotel room for 1 night in Edinburgh these days. Fortunate though that Dundee is only an hour drive away.

The Elgin – a true behemoth amongst the Springfield range of homes – offers an abundant amount of space, convenience, and luxury, while retaining

Such a beautiful historical building.

I’m not Scottish, so forgive me, but how does it work, buying flats? I don’t believe you have leasehold at all, am I right? So how does it work you sort out who is responsible for what? I am a leaseholder in London and I’ve got a massive service charge and no right to the freehold.

DirtyBird · 20/05/2025 01:23

I’m not blown away by it, the bathroom and kitchen are horrible. Some of the doors are placed in odd places. But I do love the floors.

WeegieWan · 20/05/2025 01:28

@ArtemisiaTheArtist although some flats have a tenants association or an ad hoc committee for that particular close or block, most flats have a Factor - a professional company who organises all the common bills, insurance and repairs for a small fee. It saves some poor sod having to chivvy the late-payers and heel-draggers. It's a very useful thing, but you do still have to watch them like hawks otherwise you can end up paying over the odds for repairs etc because they're favouring a company which gives them a kick back but results in a higher price to the bill payers.

Ah its all fur coat and no knickers for me.
A house of chairs and weird shades of green.
Lovely area though

Delphiniumandlupins · 20/05/2025 02:36

I'm shouting ITS DOWANHILL at anyone who thinks this property is overpriced.

My idea of hell! Give me green spaces any day!

It overlooks a park, is spitting distance of Glasgow Botanics and a few minutes walk to Kelvingrove. Quite a lot of green space.

Feetinthegrass · 20/05/2025 02:52

It feels like a very good sales pitch abs PR exercise posting it on here…

Kugelblitz · 20/05/2025 07:31

@Feetinthegrass Not really. Saw it posted in Reddit 😂

I cannot get excited about that place. They like gaudy colours and naff rugs. Trying too hard imho.

JojoM1981 · 20/05/2025 07:39

Gorgeous. Flats are always massive in Scotland.

Nightscroller1 · 20/05/2025 07:40

All I can think about is the mice that will 100% be able to access the flat due to the floorboards having stayed v near here and with friends also nearby, it's rife!

Dearg · 20/05/2025 07:46

It has good bones, but all the blue 😱 I wouldn’t care if it was just the furniture but the blue blinds look very Ikea, but not in a ‘wonderful every day ‘ way.

I think that’s a good buy for someone though.

Wow, they don't half like a rug!

I loved the pink bathroom. It’s a beautiful place.
